Hellenic Police launches 10201, a 24-hour hotline for the protection of minors

The Hellenic Police has activated the 10201 hotline, a 24-hour telephone line for the protection of minors, the Civil Protection Ministry said on Tuesday.

"This line aims to reinforce additional measures of mild policing and raise awareness on issues related to the prevention and handling of incidents of juvenile crime," a relevant statement emphasized.

The new telephone line significantly changes how a child, a parent, and any citizen in general can report an incident of violence and crime against minors.

The new telephone line will operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, nationwide. Its mission is to receive complaints, centrally manage incidents, and provide information and advice.
Its primary offering is the immediate and unified response to all incidents of violence and crime against minors. Additionally, according to the

Greek police, a special application will be activated in the coming period, to raise awareness among minors about violence and crime, and encourage them to report incidents and seek help through an easy-to-use form.

"Protection of minors is one of our main priorities in the ministry and the Greek police. As promised, a new telephone line is available to citizens from today. Dial 10201. It's a line that will operate every day, 24 hours a day, nationwide. Qualified and properly trained staff from the Adult Protection Division will handle complaints, directly mobilize services as needed, and provide advice to children and parents," Minister of Citizen Protection Michalis Chrysochoidis said.

He also urged children, parents and citizens to use the line, reporting every incident of violence and crime involving a minor victim. "Our concern is to protect every child so that no child feels vulnerable and alone," he stressed.
