Healthcare workers in Athens staged a protest against the Israeli military’s August 25 airstrikes on Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, Gaza.
Gathering outside the Israeli Embassy in Athens on Thursday, demonstrators condemned Israel’s assaults across Palestine, with a particular focus on the hospital attack. The protest was organized by health sector unions.
Participants carried Palestinian flags and banners reading “Stop the massacre now. No cooperation with the murderous Israeli state.” Chants of “Freedom for Palestine” echoed throughout the demonstration.
Some healthcare workers wore blood-stained medical coats to symbolize their colleagues killed in the strikes.
On August 25, the Israeli military launched three separate attacks on Nasser Hospital in southern Gaza. More than 20 people, including healthcare staff, were killed.
