Greece to modernise 4 MEKO class frigates

Senior military sources in Greece said that the priority of the country's navy is to modernise the 4 MEKO class frigates.
Speaking to the Greek daily Kathimerini, sources assessed that the negotiations on the mid-life modernisation project of 4 frigates could be completed in the summer.
The sources noted that the priority of the Greek Navy is the "modernisation of frigates".
Stating that the proposal submitted by Germany and the Netherlands is being evaluated, the sources stated that it is aimed to sign the contract by the end of the year and that approximately 600 million euros will be spent for modernisation.
