The officer, whose arrest occurred on Friday, was in the Economic Police Directorate at the time of the offense, and security footage from a meeting at a restaurant in Keratsini, where she met the suspect, revealed her showing classified documents and images of suspects from ongoing investigations.

The incident took place in September last year, when the officer met the criminal figure in a private, undisclosed area within the restaurant, away from the eyes of other patrons

Their two-and-a-half-hour meeting was documented by the venue’s security cameras, which were later retrieved by Internal Affairs officers investigating the case.

At the time, the officer held a significant position in the department, where she oversaw smuggling-related cases.

Internal Affairs officials, reviewing evidence, confirmed that she revealed confidential police information about an ongoing investigation.

The crime she allegedly aided concerns organized crime, particularly involving gambling halls and brothels in Greece, with some links to figures from Crete.

Although the 36-year-old officer maintained her innocence, claiming she was engaging in undercover work to extract information from the criminal suspect, her actions raise questions.

According to official reports, five days after the meeting, the suspected ring leader and the officer were alerted about the footage, which prompted her to express concerns about her activities being exposed.

The first trials for 19 detainees connected to the case are scheduled for Wednesday.
