A firefighter was confirmed dead and another injured when their fire engine fell in a ravine on Friday in the area Kotsikia on Evia island under unknown circumstances.
A firefighter was confirmed dead and another injured when their fire engine fell in a ravine on Friday in the area Kotsikia on Evia island under unknown circumstances.
According to sources, one of the firefighters was unconscious and transported to the Health Center of Mantoudi, where his death was confirmed. The other firefighter was injured in the shoulder and chest, and was being transported to the 251 Air Force General Hospital in Athens.
The fire engine was located by a passing by citizen who notified the authorities.
Severeal fire engines and firefighters had been dispatched to the site of the accident.
