Eleni Laftsi left alone

Eleni Laftsi, wife of the former SYRIZA MP for the prefecture of Rodopi Takis Haritos, was left alone in the Komotini Municipal Council.
Stratiadis and Loutatidis, who were elected in the 2019 municipal elections from the list of Eleni Laftsi, the mayoral candidate for Komotini supported by the SYRIZA party, announced their resignation from the list they belonged to. After these two resignations, Eleni Laftsi remained alone in the list headed by Laftsi.
Stratiadis and Loutatidis stated that they will continue to work as independent municipal councillors.
After the elections held on 21 May, SYRIZA MP Özgür Ferhat had claimed that he had been elected with the support of the Turkish Consulate General in Komotini and caused a big controversy.
As it will be remembered, Eleni Lafçi's husband Takis Haritos was not elected as an MP in the parliamentary elections of 21 May.
