The Greek newspaper Efimerida ton Syntakton (EFSYN) has accused the government of remaining silent in the face of attacks against the Palestinian people and “ignoring the genocide” in Gaza.

According to the report, the Greek Ministry of Foreign Affairs released a statement marking two years since the October 7, 2023 attacks, condemning only the “terrorist acts against Israel” while failing to mention the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza or the tens of thousands of civilian deaths.
EFSYN emphasized that Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis, in his remarks, made no reference to Israel’s military operations that violate international law or to the severe human rights abuses committed against Palestinians — describing this omission as a “deliberate choice.”
“The government and the Foreign Ministry remain silent in the face of attacks on the Palestinian people and are ignoring the genocide,” the paper concluded.
