Drugs worth €900,000 seized in truck at Port of Patras
Greek authorities have seized more than 130 kilograms of cannabis, with an estimated street value exceeding €900,000, after intercepting a truck at the Port of Patras. Two suspects have been arrested.
Officials said the haul included 110 kilograms of raw cannabis and 21 kilograms of hashish. The drugs were discovered during a coordinated operation by port authorities in Patras and law enforcement teams in Athens, following intelligence about the shipment.
The truck was stopped after disembarking from a ferry on the Antirrio–Rio route. Sniffer dogs located the drugs concealed in packaging designed to resemble legal hydroponic cannabis products.
Investigators later raided a warehouse in the Ambelokipi district of Athens, believed to be the shipment’s destination, where labels from Greek and Spanish companies were found. Authorities said the investigation into the trafficking network is ongoing.
