According to the news in the press, the gang providing pilot licences to pilot candidates in exchange for money was detected by the police and the 70-year-old gang leader, two gang members and two pilot candidates were detained.

In the news claiming that 8 to 25 thousand euros were paid for an irregular pilot licence, it was stated that the detained 70-year-old gang leader worked at Olimpic Airlines in the past.

Speaking to Mega TV, the lawyer of the 70-year-old suspect, who is accused of obtaining a pilot licence in exchange for money, stated that the suspect denied the accusations and said, "The possibility that my client may have helped an acquaintance in the exams does not mean that he is associated with the provision of a fake licence."

In the news report, it was alleged that pilot candidates who had difficulty in passing the licence exams were cheated with technological tools, some candidates were provided with licences without taking the exam or directed to exam centres abroad.
