585 kilos of cocaine seized in Thessaloniki
A drug trafficking gang was busted in Thessaloniki. 585 kilos of cocaine was seized in parcels bearing Nazi symbols.
Thessaloniki Police Chief Yorgos Papadopoulos stated in a statement that 585 kilos of cocaine were seized in an operation in Thessaloniki. This is one of the largest amounts of cocaine detected and seized in Greece.
In the statement, it was stated that 5 people, including 4 foreigners and 1 Greek citizen, were detained in the operation.
In connection with the incident, 5 members of the criminal organisation, mostly related to each other, including 4 foreigners of Albanian origin aged 50, 42, 21 and 33 and a 35-year-old citizen, were detained.
Among those detained is an unnamed 50-year-old man who played an important role in drug trafficking from Latin America to Greece and across Europe.
