4 Turks sued for lands expropriated in Rhodes
It has been reported that 4 Turkish citizens filed a lawsuit before the Greek authorities for the annulment of the 1940 decisions of the Italian administration of the time, which led to the expropriation of their ancestral lands on the Island of Rhodes.
According to the news of the Dimokratiki newspaper in Rhodes, 4 Turkish citizens caused the expropriation of two lands in the Niohori region of the island; It is stated that the Italian Administration filed two different arguments at the Rhodes Multi-Member Civil Court of First Instance for the annulment of the order dated 13 May 1940.
In the news, it was reminded that some Turkish citizens had previously filed a lawsuit for compensation for the real estates expropriated by the Italian Administration and sold by the Greek authorities after the transfer of the Dodecanese Islands to Greece, but the claims were canceled due to the procedure.
Rhodes and Kos, which are from the Dodecanese Islands, were annexed by Italy in 1912 and transferred to Greece in 1947 in accordance with the Paris Peace Treaty.
