1,333 new traffic violations in the region
Traffic controls continue intensively in the peak of summer throughout the Greek territory.
Specifically, between July 31 and August 6, 2022, 97,387 traffic checks of drivers and vehicles were carried out and 22,962 violations were confirmed.
In more detail, violations were confirmed by region, as follows:
4,171 in Attica,
3,243 in Crete,
2,109 in Thessalia,
1,954 in Central Macedonia,
1,674 in Western Greece,
1,620 in the South Aegean,
1,333 in Eastern Macedonia and Thrace,
1,313 in the Peloponnese,
1,166 in the Ionian Islands,
1,127 in Central Greece,
1,096 in Epirus,
1,064 in Thessaloniki,
619 in the North Aegean and
473 in Western Macedonia.
In particular, the violations confirmed concern:
4,488 for speeding,
7,866 for illegal parking,
1,650 for driving without a driver's license,
1,559 for not wearing a protective helmet,
798 for not using a seat belt,
519 for K.T.E.O.,
483 for drunk driving,
385 for mobile phone usage,
384 uninsured vehicles,
221 for signal violation,
208 for driving in the opposite traffic flow,
188 for irregular manoeuvres,
166 for illegal overtaking,
132 failure to observe safety distance,
98 for worn tires,
81 for not using child seats,
75 for opposite traffic on a one-way street,
