10 per cent share for the FSRU in Alexandroupoli, also for Romanians
Gastrade's shareholders are planning to expand their stake in the FSRU (Floating LNG Storage and Regasification Unit) in Alexandroupoli. According to reliable information obtained by Energypress, there has been a positive response from the shareholders for a Romanian entity (probably the state-owned Transgaz company) to join Gastrade's share capital with a 10% stake.
Speaking at the Power & Gas Forum conference, Kostis Sifneos, Vice President and CEO of Gastrade, stated that a similar request has been made by North Macedonia. However, according to sources familiar with the matter, the deal is not expected to be finalised due to the special political and national relations between Bulgaria and North Macedonia and because Bulgaria already holds a 20 percent stake through Bulgartransgaz.
Gastrade's current shareholder structure consists of five shareholders, each sharing an equal 20 per cent stake. These are Copelouzos Group, Gaslog, DEPA Emporia, Bulgartransgaz and DESFA.
As it is known, the project is currently in the testing phase and this process will continue until 12 April. On 30 April, commercial activity is expected to start.
