The Ministry of Rural Development and Food continues to pay compensation for animals killed due to plague and smallpox in application of European Regulation 687/2020.

Yesterday, the Ministry of Rural Development and Food credited €7.6 million to the accounts of the Regions to be paid to beneficiary farmers.
It is recalled that on December 3, the day the payment of compensation began, 5.7 million euros had been credited to the Regions to be paid to eligible livestock farmers and to cover the Regions' expenses.
In total, to date, more than €13.3 million has been credited to the Regions for compensation to farmers whose animals were affected by the two zoonoses and to cover costs incurred by the Regions.
