The union representing public hospital workers, POEDIN, has called a three-hour work stoppage on Tuesday demanding the reinstatement of the two additional salaries in the public sector and full-time contracts for workers.
The union representing public hospital workers, POEDIN, has called a three-hour work stoppage on Tuesday demanding the reinstatement of the two additional salaries in the public sector and full-time contracts for workers.
It is also organizing a protest rally at 12.30 p.m. outside the Finance Ministry in downtown Athens.
The union said that because salaries are low “healthcare workers are resigning en masse and looking for work in the private sector and mainly abroad.”
POEDIN’s strike is being backed by the public servants’ umbrella union, ADEDY.
