New payments totalling 76 million euros for 2023 losses will continue on Tuesday and Wednesday by ELGA (Hellenic Agricultural Compensation Agency).

As stated in the statement made by the Ministry of Agriculture and Development:

“On Tuesday 2 April 2024 at 12.00 pm, ELGA will pay 60 million euros in compensation for the year 2023.

With this payment, 130 million euros will be paid in two months. By the end of the first half of 2024, it is planned to pay all compensation due.

16 million euros will be paid by way of State Aid through ELGA on Wednesday 3 April 2024 at 12.00 pm.  This compensation will be paid in advance for crops, mainly olive crops, damaged by fires in the Dodecanese-Rhodes, Magnesia and Evros Regional Units in the summer of 2023.

‘With consistent and systematic effort, we adhere to the timetables and continue to stand by our producers with the payments we make,’ Minister of Rural Development and Food Lefteris Avgenakis said in a statement.”
