The centenarian of Şahin village passes away

Hacı Ahmet Manafoğlu, one of the eldest residents of İskeçe's Şahin village, passed away at the age of 99.
Hacı Ahmet Manafoğlu, who was much loved in the village, died at his home on the evening of September 2. His funeral was held on Tuesday, September 3, and the prayers were led by İskeçe Mufti Mustafa Trampa before he was laid to rest.
Manafoğlu, the grandfather of Millet Newspaper Publishing Coordinator Bilal Budur's wife, was a respected figure in the community. On March 9, 2011, during a visit to Western Thrace as Türkiye's Foreign Minister, Ahmet Davutoğlu visited Şahin village and met with Hacı Ahmet Manafoğlu, receiving his blessings.
