Russia to ban Instagram, designate Meta as 'extremist'
Instagram will be banned in Russia from Monday.

After a ban on Facebook, one week later Communication Agency in Russia announces that Instagram will be banned too.

Another Meta company Facebook was banned a week ago and now it is announced that on March 14, Monday the second Meta company Instagram will be banned as well.

Russian government states that this ban is due to the double-standard attitude against Russia as discriminated posts are allowed, thus Meta is designated as 'extremist'.

It was also said by the Agency that the ban will be applied for 48 hours.

However another Meta company WhatsApp will remain free to use for now.
