YTB President Eren shares a message on the 29th anniversary of Dr. Sadık Ahmet's death
In his message, Eren stated that Sadık Ahmet was immortalized with his tireless efforts to express minority rights on every platform and his efforts for the recognition of Turkish identity.
In his post, Eren included a short video depicting the life of Dr. Sadık Ahmet. In his post on his social media account, YTB President Eren stated the following: "We remember the late Dr. Sadık Ahmet, the flag-bearing leader of Western Thrace Turks, with longing on the 29th anniversary of his death. He was immortalized in our hearts with his fighting spirit, his tireless efforts to express the rights of the minority on every platform and his efforts for the recognition of the Turkish identity. Uncle Sadık made important efforts for the establishment of bilingual schools, meeting the need for teachers, autonomy of foundations, religious freedom and political representation. He also set an example for all of us with his stance and belief against being a Turk being seen as a crime. On July 24, 1995, I remember Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who passed away on July 24, 1995. May his beloved soul rest in peace."
