Youth Nature Festival organized by GAT in Komotini
The event opened with a speech by Hüseyin Baltacı, President of WTMUGA, who praised the dedication of the young participants and congratulated the GAT members. Following him, GAT President Hilmi Eren Sait thanked everyone who contributed to making the event possible.
Moderated by Azra Hasan, the program featured speeches by GAT board members Yasemin Arap and Emir Mehmet, who spoke about the significance of May 19, the Commemoration of Atatürk, Youth and Sports Day, and Mustafa Kemal Atatürk’s emphasis on youth.
Türkiye’s Consul General in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, delivered a welcoming address. After the speeches, attendees were served traditional meatballs. The event continued with a concert by the local music group “Restore.”
The festival was attended by notable figures including Consul General Aykut Ünal and his wife İlaydan Ünal, Rodopi MP Özgür Ferhat, Komotini Mufti İbrahim Şerif, FEP Party Chairperson Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Yassıköy Deputy Mayor Arif Mehmet, members of the FEP and GTGB youth branches, and numerous young people from the community.
Originally planned to take place by the Çepelli stream, the event was moved indoors to the Turkish Youth Association due to unfavorable weather conditions.
