Women’s Irshad Team hosts Mawlid al-Nabi program in Gümülcine
The event began with welcoming remarks by Halime Mehmetali, head of the Women’s Irshad Team, followed by a recitation from the Holy Qur’an. Afterwards, preacher and Qur’an course instructor Nafiye Karaali spoke on the significance of the blessed night marking the birth of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).
Qur’an course instructors Makbule Nizam, Reyhan Kuru, and Hatice Candan Binbaşı recited ilahis and Qur’anic verses with their translations. Course participant Şeyda Koca Mustafa presented the naat Şemâil, while Zeynep Ali recited a passage from the Mawlid al-Sharif on the Prophet’s birth.
Children attending the program also contributed with ilahis, adding a joyful atmosphere, before Makbule Nizam concluded with short surah recitations. The gathering ended with a closing prayer by Halime Mehmetali.
Participants were offered sherbet, Turkish delight, and kandil simidi (traditional festival pastries).
