Iftar held in Şahin (Echinos) village of İskeçe (Xanthi) on Friday, 29 April, brought together 1500 people at the same table.

In addition to the village people, many guests participated in the iftar program, which was held with the contributions of one of our benevolent kinsman, and they benefited from the spiritual table.

Istanbul Emirgân Hamid-i Evvel Mosque Imam Hafız Alpcan Çelik and Grand Çamlıca Mosque Muezzin Mustafa Alphayta, who were specially invited to the fast-breaking program, conquered hearts with the Qur'an, hymns, and odes they recited before iftar.

İskeçe Mufti Ahmet Mete, MP Hüseyin Zeybek, Deputy Consuls Barış Çulha and Subutay Koç representing Turkey's Consulate General in Komotini, Mayor of Mustafçova Rıdvan Delihüseyin, Mayor of İskeçe Manolis Tsepelis, Xanthi Deputy Mayor Sua Bekiroğlu, Region Councilor Member of State Assembly Irfan Hacıgene, Mustafçova Municipality's Main Opposition Chairman Cemil Kabza, opposition leaders Ahmet Kurt and Önder Meçoğlu, as well as Mücahit Dikoğlu, who announced his re-election, also attended. On the other hand, BTDD Secretary-General Besim İsmail Başa was also present at the iftar.

Speaking after the fast-breaking meal, Mufti of İskeçe Ahmet Mete, Mayor of Mustafçova Rıdvan Deli Hüseyin, Mayor of İskeçe Manolis Tsepelis and Deputy Hüseyin Zeybek congratulated and greeted the participants.

Şahinli Religious Worker Theologian Hasan Hacı Hasanoğlu posted a thank you message on social media and thanked the participants on behalf of the organization.

The following statements were included in the thanking message:

To our two esteemed deputy consuls from the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey, to our virtuous Mufti of İskeçe Ahmet Mete, to our deputy Mr. Huseyin Zeybek, to the mayor of İskeçe Tsepelis. We sincerely thank all other political party chairmen, administrators, and executives, as well as all other protocol members, guests of honor, Şahin Foundation and its board of trustees, Millet Newspaper Western Thrace Group and Çınar FM media organization, and all our esteemed guests who participated closely or from afar.

My dear friends, Grand Çamlıca Mosque Muezzin Mustafa Alphayta and Emirgan Hamid, who crowned and honored our fast-breaking program with their beautiful voices, Quran recitation, hymns, and eulogies, helped all our guests to experience a spiritually different atmosphere and came from Istanbul despite their busy schedules. I sincerely thank my teachers of the Evvel Mosque Imam Alpcan ÇELİK.

Especially; To my friends Mehmet Emin Velibaşa and his family, my teacher Eyüp Aguş and his family, my teacher Ahmet Hraloğlu, Deputy Mufti of İskeçe, to all the ladies who have been working hard for days with great sacrifice and unity, to our neighbors, who contributed to the realization of the iftar organization; We would like to thank all my young brothers, elders, and ladies of Şahin who helped out in this organization with their own desires and wishes, completely with the understanding of volunteerism and brotherhood.

Good luck to you altogether, good thing we are one and together. May Allah grant us many more good deeds. May Allah be pleased with you all.

Note: Our esteemed Deputy, Burhan Baran, could not attend our fast-breaking dinner due to an important program he had to hold in Athens. They expressed their sadness that our deputy could not attend and conveyed their greetings and conversations to all Şahin people and guests.”
