Western Thrace Turkish Teachers Union to mark International Mother Language Day with cultural event
Western Thrace Turkish Teachers Union (BTTÖB) is set to host a special event on February 21 to commemorate International Mother Language Day, underscoring the importance of linguistic heritage and cultural identity.
The event will take place on Saturday, February 21, at 14:00 local time at the association’s premises in Gümülcine.
Poetry and Music Performance
As part of the program, the cultural group Yakamoz will present a poetry and music recital highlighting the richness of the Turkish language and its literary tradition.
Organizers say the initiative aims to raise awareness about the significance of mother tongue education and cultural preservation, particularly within the Turkish minority community of Western Thrace.
