“We will never forget you Ali”
The following statements were included in the publication, which stated that he was a loved and respected young person both in the Xanthi Turkish Union community and among all Western Thrace Turks:
“Ali Salihoğlu was sent off to his last journey with a funeral that will be remembered for years. Ali Salihoğlu, a member of the Executive Board of our Xanthi Turkish Union and also a member of the FEP Party, was buried on Monday, January 30, 2023, after the afternoon prayer in the village of İnhanlı, where he was born and resides.
Making a speech at the funeral, Xanthi Turkish Union President Ozan Ahmetoğlu emphasized that Ali Salihoğlu is an exemplary person and that despite his young age, he has very important services in Western Thrace Turkish minority institutions. Stating that he almost brought all of Western Thrace together with his death, ITB President Ahmetoğlu said, "He is the trustee of his village despite his young age, who always strives for our minority society, is a manager in the Xanthi Turkish Union, and a member of the VQA in the FEP party. He always wanted what he wanted for his village, for his community. He has been at the forefront of all our struggles. Our brother Ali, who struggled for his society and was actually a litigator, passed away on the most important day of this society, on January 29. We talked about the activities and studies that we will always do even during his illness. We will never forget you Ali. Rest in peace. Rest in peace."
