Urgent action needed for a new school building for Xanthi Minority High School

The Executive Committee and Parent-Teacher Association of Xanthi Minority Middle and High School have called on authorities to resolve the ongoing issue of the school's inadequate building. In a letter sent to relevant institutions, they emphasized that despite numerous appeals to the Ministry of Education, “Building Infrastructure S.A.,” and local administrations, no concrete steps have been taken to address the problem.

Highlighted Issues
The letter underscored contradictory responses and procedural ambiguities. For instance, the Ministry of Education claimed in its reply to a parliamentary question posed by MP Hüseyin Zeybek that the school had not submitted a request for a new building. However, despite the school's application to “Building Infrastructure S.A.,” no written response was provided. Even after numerous phone calls to the institution, securing a written reply proved impossible.

Demands
Ozan Ahmetoğlu, the President of the Executive Committee, and Cemalettin Efendi, the President of the Parent-Teacher Association, stressed that the inadequacy of the current building severely affects the quality of education for students. They urged the authorities to clarify the necessary procedures and take immediate action to construct a new school building.

Institutions and Officials Addressed in the Letter
Ministry of Education, Religious Affairs, and Sports
Building Infrastructure S.A.
Xanthi Municipality
East Macedonia and Thrace Region Governor Christodoulos Topsidis

The letter highlighted that this long-standing issue has not only impacted the local community but also students, teachers, and parents for many years. It concluded by reiterating the urgent need for action to address this critical problem.
