Türkiye culture minister Ersoy commemorates Western Thrace Turkish leader Dr. Sadık Ahmet
In a message shared on his NSocial account, Ersoy paid tribute to Dr. Sadık Ahmet, describing him as a leading figure in the struggle of Western Thrace Turks for their rights, legal recognition and identity.
"Dr. Sadık Ahmet, who devoted his life to his cause, left an unforgettable mark with his courage, determination and principled stance," Ersoy said.
Ersoy added that Türkiye would continue to support efforts aimed at protecting the legitimate rights, identity and cultural values of the Turkish community of Western Thrace, while keeping Dr. Sadık Ahmet’s legacy alive.
Dr. Sadık Ahmet, founder of the Friendship, Equality and Peace (DEB) Party and one of the most influential figures in the modern history of Western Thrace Turks, continues to be remembered by the community on the anniversary of his death.
