FUEN Turkish Minorities/Communities Working Group (TAG) 9th Annual Meeting will be held in Western Thrace between 1-4 November.

How is the daily life of the Western Thrace Turkish community?

What are the rights violations and problems that the Turkish society is exposed to?

What challenges do members of the Turkish community face and what achievements are they proud of?

You can find the answers to these questions at the 9th Annual Meeting of FUEN Turkish Minorities/Communities Working Group (TAG) to be held in the Western Thrace - Greece this year.

The hosts of the meeting, which will take place on 1-4 November 2023, will be the Federation of Western Thrace Turks in Europe (ABTTF), which represents the Western Thrace Turkish community at FUEN, the Friendship Equality Peace (DEB) Party and the Western Thrace Minority Graduates Association (BTAYTD).

In addition to the host Western Thrace Turks, representatives of Turks living in Kosovo and Bulgaria, Meskhetian Turks from Russia, Gagauz Turks from Ukraine and Moldova, Crimean Tatars from Ukraine and Tatars living in Romania are attending the meeting.

7 Turkish minorities from 8 different countries and his community are represented at the meeting.

The program offers a mixture of presentations and discussions that give insight into the traditions and customs of the Western Thrace Turkish community in Greece, guided tours in the cities of Komotini and Xanthi, and cultural performances.

The program also includes visits to institutions and organizations of the Western Thrace Turkish community.

At the round table meeting to be held on November 3, participants will have the opportunity to convey the important developments regarding the Turkish minorities and communities they belong to in the last year and the activities of the organizations they represent.

At the meeting, FUEN TAG's 2024 activity plan will also be discussed and a common road map regarding this will be determined.
