Turkish Mayors in Western Thrace commemorated the resistance day of Western Thrace Turks with their messages on January 29.
Mayors of Turkish Minority Members in Western Thrace commemorated the day of resistance by posting on their social media accounts on January 29, the anniversary of Western Thrace Turks' struggle for rights.
Yassıköy (Iasmos) Mayor Önder Mümin, Mustafçova (Myki) Mayor Rıdvan Delihüseyin, and Kozlukebir (Arriana) Mayor Rıdvan Ahmet celebrated the day of seeking rights and resistance by commemorating those who contributed to this struggle with their social media accounts.
Mayors shared the following messages:
Leader Mumin:
On January 29, 1988, our kinsmen carried out the most important mass resistance in their history, in unity and solidarity, with one heart and one fist. The minority society gave a lesson in democracy and said peacefully, stop oppression, injustice, injustice, usurpation of rights and property. After these landmark performances, nothing was the same as before. I commemorate our elders who gave their hearts to this cause, who went down to the square that day, who are alive today, with respect and loyalty, and those who passed away to eternity with gratitude and mercy.
Ridvan Delihüseyin:
Human history is tested with many positive and negative experiences in the process. I think that January 29, the anniversary of this test, in which Western Thrace Turks were tested and successfully passed, should be kept alive as they should set an example for the next generations. Happy Anniversary of Our Struggle for Rights.
Ridvan Ahmet:
I respectfully commemorate all our kinsmen who took part in the January 29 events and contributed to our struggle for rights and identity. I congratulate the 29 January Day of Claiming and Resistance.
