Traditional Iftar enthusiasm experienced in Gökçepınar village

The Turkish Muslim community of the village of Gökçepınar in Xanthi organised a traditional Iftar programme on Sunday 24 March.

The iftar programme held in Gökçepınar village mosque was attended by many guests as well as Gökçepınar people.

In addition to Aykut Ünal, Consul General of Türkiye in Komotini, Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, Xanthi MPs Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran, Vice-President of the Province İrfan Hacıgene attended the Traditional Iftar programme in Gökçepınar village as the guest of honour, Mayor of Mustafçova Ahmet Kurt, President of FEP Party Çiğdem Asafoğlu, President of Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of WTMUGA Hüseyin Baltacı, President of Çınar Association Cengiz Ömer, State and Municipal Council Members and many other guests attended the event.

After the Iftar, Erkan Azizoğlu, Imam Hatibi of Gökçepınar village, greeted the guests and thanked everyone for attending the invitation in their village. Imam Azizoğlu presented a bouquet of flowers to Consul General Aykut Ünal on behalf of his village and said "I know that you like red and white colours very much. For this reason, we preferred flowers in this colour".

Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, greeted the people after the iftar and expressed his pleasure to be in Gökçepınar and said: "There is an atmosphere of unity and solidarity in Gökçepınar this evening. This is a very beautiful picture, may Allah perpetuate our unity and solidarity".

Lastly greeting the Muslim-Turkish community of Gökçepınar, Consul General Aykut Ünal expressed his pleasure to be in Gökçepınar village and stated that he was also pleased with the unity and solidarity of the cognates. He also thanked the flowers presented to him with his favourite colours.
