Traditional iftar enthusiasm experienced in Gencerli
On 22 March Friday, the traditional iftar was held in Gencerli, one of the villages of the plain region of Xanthi.
The people of Gencerli village of Xanthi continued the tradition of iftar breaking the fast for years this year as well.
Organised in the garden of Gencerli Mosque, the iftar dinner was attended by the people of the village as well as cognates from the surrounding villages.
Many guests also attended the iftar in Gencerli. Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, Ramadan Duban representing the Consulate General of the Republic of Turkey in Komotini, Xanthi MPs Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran, former MP Çetin Mandacı, Deputy State President İrfan Hacıgene, FEP Party President Çiğdem Asafoğlu, WTMUGA President Hüseyin Baltacı, Çınar Association President Cengiz Ömer, Municipal Council Members and many other guests attended the iftar in Gencerli.
Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi greeted the people after the iftar and thanked the people of Gencerli for this beautiful organisation.
Traditional dishes prepared by the women of Gencerli village were served at the iftar table. The youth of Gencerli also drew attention with their organised work for the perfect iftar.
