Traditional Ashura event organised in Masjid-i Atik in Xanthi
Under the leadership of Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, a traditional Ashura event was held on Friday, 11 August 2023 at Masjid-i Atik. Vice Consul Baris Çulha attended the Ashura event on behalf of the Consul General of Turkey in Komotini.
Deputy Mufti Ahmet Hraloğlu and close colleagues of Mufti Trampa were present at the event. Xanthi MPs Hüseyin Zeybek and Burhan Baran, Deputy Mayor of Xanthi Suha Bekiroğlu, Deputy Mayor of Xanthi Suha Bekiroğlu, Mayor of Mustafçova Rıdvan Delihüseyin, President of the Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of the Association of Western Thrace Minority Schools Councillors Ahmet Kara, Deputy Chairman of the FEP Party Bahri Belço, prominent representatives of our minority and many people from our community attended the Ashura event organised at Masjid-i Atik.
After the Friday prayer at Masjid-i Atik, the congregation was served aşure.
On the other hand, in the village of Misvaklı, the Misvaklı Foundation Committee and the Misvaklı Youth organised an ashura event and served ashura.
