Tradition continues in Hebilköy: Village rock painted in Galatasaray Colors

The long-standing tradition in Hebilköy, a village in the Rhodope region of Greece, continued this year as the iconic village rock was painted in the colors of the Turkish football champions. Following Galatasaray's victory in the 2024–2025 Turkish Süper Lig, the rock at the entrance of the village was painted yellow and red in celebration.
Located within the Kozlukebir Municipality, the stone now features Galatasaray’s five-star crest alongside a lion figure, symbolizing the club’s nickname “Aslan” (Lion).
Kozlukebir Mayor Erdem Hüseyin shared a statement regarding the event:
“After three years, the Hebilköy rock has once again been painted by the Kozlukebir Municipality in the colors of the league champion. This year, we proudly honor Galatasaray. The last time this tradition was carried out was for Trabzonspor’s championship three years ago.”
This symbolic act remains a vibrant example of how football continues to unite and energize communities across borders.
