Sinan Ahmet, President of the Rhodope Tobacco Cooperative, and the accompanying members of the board of directors visited the President of the Region Metios in his office.
Sinan Ahmet, President of the Rhodope Province Tobacco Cooperative, and the accompanying members of the board of directors visited East Macedonian Region President Christos Metios in his office and talked for a while.
Tarkan Murtaza, Deputy Chairman of the State in charge of infrastructure, and Ahmet İbram, the state councilor, the state's lifelong learning consultant and in charge of sports, were also present at the meeting.
In the written statement made by the state on the subject, it was stated that the chairman of the tobacco cooperative and the members of the board of directors exchanged information about the problems faced by tobacco producers and the requests to the Ministry of Agriculture and Development.
The main focus of the meeting was the constant increase in production costs.
At the meeting, where it was stated that the aid process of 90 euros per decare for 2020 should be accelerated, it was stated that information was exchanged on the report of the relevant commission, which determined the damages caused by the disease seen in tobacco in 2018.
Regarding the issue, Region President Christos Metios said, “We promised to the representatives of tobacco manufacturers that I would convey their problems and requests to the ministry. At the meeting, we also agreed on the continuation of the irrigation projects carried out by the municipalities.”
