Demonstrations were held in Gümülcine and İskeçe on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 for the election of the councils.
The minority community has expressed once again with the protests and hundreds of signatures collected, the demand for the extension of the term of office of the former elected committees to the end of 2021 in case the elections cannot be held due to the pandemic.
Since the request of the minority community was not taken into account regarding the Council Elections, the elected muftis of the minority, parliamentarians, mayors, deputy mayors, council members, representatives of non-governmental organizations, councils and councilors candidates attended.
