The 101st anniversary of the establishment of the Republic of Turkiye celebrated in Western Thrace
The programme, which took place on Tuesday evening, 29 October, at the event hall in Yassıköy, Rhodope province, was attended by compatriots from all over Western Thrace. During the event, which started at 19.00, Consul General of Turkiye in Komotini Aykut Ünal and his wife İlayda Ünal welcomed the guests at the door and accepted the congratulations.
State presidents, vice presidents, regional deputies, mayors, association presidents and NGO representatives were among those who attended.
At the beginning of the programme, the Turkish National Anthem and the Greek National Anthem were sung, followed by a video message of the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan on the 29th October Republic Day.
Afterwards, the Consul General of Turkiye in Komotini, Aykut Ünal, took the floor and made a speech.
He shared his thoughts about the establishment of the Republic of Turkiye with the participants.
After the Consul General completed his speech, a cinevision show prepared for 29 October Republic Day was presented.
At the end of the programme, refreshments were served to the participants.
