Teacher Fikri passes away
Fikri Şükrüoğlu passed away on Wednesday, July 31. His funeral will take place tomorrow (Thursday, August 1) after the afternoon prayer at Aren Mahalle Mosque, followed by his burial at Aren Mahalle Cemetery.
Due to his passing, the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Association and the İskeçe Turkish Union have issued condolence messages.
Fikri Şükrüoğlu, who passed away at the age of 79, served as a teacher for approximately 41 years in Göynüklü and Höyükköy.
In addition to his teaching career, Fikri Şükrüoğlu was a member of the executive boards of the Western Thrace Turkish Teachers' Association and the İskeçe Turkish Union.
A lover of Turkish music, Fikri Şükrüoğlu had been an active member of the İskeçe Turkish Union Turkish Classical Music Choir since 2003.
