SYRIZA clear winner in Turkish minority municipalities

The winner of the elections in the three Turkish minority municipalities in Western Thrace was SYRIZA.
The main opposition party SYRIZA was by far the first party in two minority municipalities in the prefecture of Rodopi and one in the prefecture of Xanthi.
In Kozlukebir municipality of Rhodope province, SYRIZA reached 49.16 per cent of the votes. In Yassıköy, the second minority municipality of Rhodope province, SYRIZA Party achieved a historic success with 54.83 per cent of the votes.
A similar situation was also observed in Mustafçova municipality in Xanthi, whose entire population consists of members of the Muslim Turkish minority. In this region, SYRIZA received 47.14 per cent of the votes.
In all three municipalities, SYRIZA Party increased its vote rate compared to the previous elections.
