"Support local resources and young talents!" suggestion from the Democratic Power team to Mayor Erdem Hüseyin

In Kozlukebir Municipality, a meeting was held today by the members of the Municipal Commission at the municipality building in Sirkeli village. Three issues were discussed at the meeting.

The main opposition Democratic Power team headed by Rıdvan Ahmet, who said no to one of the three issues discussed at the meeting, made a statement on the issue.

The Democratic Power List, the main opposition in Kozlukebir Municipality, which suggested to the mayor Erdem Hüseyin to support local resources and young talents, stated the following in a statement on why they said no to one of the issues discussed:

"Three important issues were discussed at the Municipality Commission meeting held today and on the first two issues, as the participants of the meeting, we said YES and supported the decisions taken. However, the 3rd issue involved the appointment of a lawyer by the Mayor Mr. Erdem Hüseyin for the compensation of the damage caused by an accident in Kurcalı village within the borders of our municipality.

The proposal for the appointment of a lawyer included the appointment of a lawyer from outside the region. Considering the importance we attach to local resources and young talents within our minority, we said NO to this proposal.

We believe that with regard to the consequences of any event that takes place within our municipal borders, local resources and young talents within our minority should be relied upon.

We believe that young lawyers who have grown up in our region, have received legal education and are familiar with the dynamics of our society are a more appropriate choice in such cases. Therefore, we believe that a lawyer appointed from outside the region would be insufficient in terms of ensuring justice and increasing social trust.

We address to the mayor Mr. Erdem Hüseyin: Please rely on local resources and the young talents and lawyers of our MINORITY, support them and utilise this potential to build the future of our region."
