Salturos, ex-governor of Xanthi, passes away

Lawyer Panagiotis Salturos, one of the former governors of Xanthi, who had been treated for cancer for a long time, passed away.

The first elected governor of Xanthi, Lawyer Panayotis Salturos, had cancer and had been receiving treatment for a long time.

Former Governor Panagiotis Salturos succumbed to cancer and died on Wednesday, August 3 at Kavala State Hospital, where he was treated.

Panayotis Salturos served as the governor of Xanthi from 1994 to 1998. Attorney Salturos also served a term as Secretary General in the North Aegean during the PASOK government. A funeral will be held for Salturos on Friday, August 5, in the central church in Xanthi, after which he will be buried.
