In a written statement from the municipality, the details of Strantzalis' visit were shared, following his recent appointment as the Fire Chief of the Rodopi Region. The statement read:
"Mr. Athanasios Strantzalis, in light of his new position as the Fire Chief of Rodopi, visited Yassıköy Mayor Mr. Caner İmam. During the meeting, issues related to civil defense, fire prevention and response efforts, as well as strengthening the cooperation between the Fire Services and Yassıköy Municipality, were discussed."
