Rodop Turkish Women's Cultural Association visits Strasbourg for advocacy efforts

From November 4 to 7, representatives of the Rodop Turkish Women's Cultural Association (RİTKKD), including President Hülya Emin and legal advisor İlker Çavuşoğlu, conducted a working visit to Strasbourg. The visit focused on pursuing the enforcement of European Court of Human Rights (ECHR) rulings related to Turkish minority associations in Greece, which remain unenforced by Greece despite being issued over 16 years ago.
Ahead of the European Council’s December meeting, where unenforced ECHR decisions are expected to be discussed, the RİTKKD delegation held discussions with officials from the ECHR Execution Department, the European Implementation Network, and permanent representatives of European Council member states. The delegation highlighted the prolonged injustice faced by the Rodop Turkish Women's Cultural Association, Xanthi Turkish Union, and Evros Minority Youth Association due to Greece's ongoing non-compliance.
RİTKKD also met with Türkiye's Permanent Representative to the Council of Europe, Ambassador Nurdan Bayraktar Golder, to seek further support in advocating for full compliance with these court rulings.
