Rıza Kırlıdökme sent off to his last journey
Rıza Kırlıdökme, who passed away yesterday at his home in Xanthi, was buried today (Wednesday, 9 August) after the noon prayer at Arenmahalle Mosque.
After the prayer at Kırlıdökme's house, Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi made a speech and stated that Rıza Kırlıdökme had a colourful and unique personality. Mufti Trampa stated that he was always in the organisations of the Turkish Minority of Western Thrace and made important contributions to the community with his services and works and added: "He was one of our elders who shed light on our history and past. I wish mercy from Allah and condolences and patience to all his relatives."
In his speech, the President of Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu reminded that Rıza Kırlıdökme served as the President of the Union during difficult times for the minority, as an administrator in Xanthi Minority High School for many years and as a columnist in Gündem Newspaper for a long time. Ahmetoğlu stated that he was involved in the minority press and broadcasting life and that he had been in all stages of the press from being a copyist to being a writer in the old years and added: "Our former association president Rıza is a person who left his mark in Western Thrace and Xanthi. I wish him mercy from God and condolences to his family and all his loved ones."
After the funeral prayer led by Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi, Rıza Kırlıdökme was buried in Arenmahalle Cemetery of Xanthi.
