Retired teacher Cemali Şargo laid to rest
Cemali Şargo, one of the popular figures of Xanthi, was buried on Thursday, 30 November at Down Town cemetery in Xanthi.
A large number of people attended the funeral ceremony for Cemali Şargo, a retired teacher who passed away at the age of 73, which was held after the afternoon prayer at Asağımahalle Çınar Mosque in Xanthi.
The funeral prayer was led by Mustafa Trampa, Mufti of Xanthi. In his speech, Trampa emphasised that Cemali Shargo was an exemplary person with his gentlemanly personality and his character who protected all minority institutions.
Cemali Şargo was then buried in the Aşağımahalle Cemetery in Xanthi.
The funeral ceremony in Xanthi was attended by Mufti of Xanthi Mustafa Trampa, Xanthi PASOK MP Burhan Baran, FEP Party President Çiğdem Asafoğlu, Ramadan Duban from the Consulate General of Turkey in Komotini, newly elected Mayor of Mustafçova Ahmet Kurt, President of Xanthi Turkish Union Ozan Ahmetoğlu, President of Çınar Association Cengiz Ömer, former mayors of Mustafçova Mustafa Aga and Cemil Kabza, former mayor of Susurköy Erdoğan Sait and many cognates.
