President of Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association protested the practices of Greece
Hasan Küçük, President of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association, protested in front of the Consulate General of Greece in Istanbul against the refusal of his family to enter Greece on 15 August even though he had a Schengen visa. Küçük condemned the unfair attitude of Greece towards the Turkish minority.
Küçük, who had the "inadmissible passenger form" given to him at the Greek border gate stamped as a "document of shame" and turned it into a foreign currency, said in his statement that they will not remain silent against this practice of Greece.
Emphasising that they will make their voices heard everywhere, Küçük said: "It is a pity that I, as the President of the Western Thrace Turks Solidarity Association, learnt 3 days ago at the Kipi border gate that defending the usurped rights of the Turkish minority entrusted to Greece in return for the Greeks of Istanbul is a crime that will prevent me from entering Greece. I was deported without any justification because I asked for an account of the unfair attitude applied to the Turkish minority of Western Thrace."
Küçük stated that he strongly condemned the authorities who turned him away from the border as the chairman of the umbrella organisation representing the Western Thrace Turks and those who took this decision on 15 August, the day when the Republic of Turkey permitted the holding of rituals in good faith at the Sumela Monastery.
Hasan Küçük and the accompanying members of the association, after the statement, left the prepared tattoo in front of the consulate. The female official who came out of the consulate removed the tattoo and put it in front of the next building.
