Speaking about the situation of the country's economy and the cost of living, Özgür Ferhat argued that Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis is dragging Greece into the abyss. Noting that the purchasing power of the citizens has melted, Ferhat noted that the loans not granted to tens of thousands of small and medium-sized enterprises have created a big problem, and that there are serious problems in the ESPA programmes as well as the cash flow of the enterprises.

"Can we talk about a country-wide development in a budget draft in which small tradesmen are not supported?" said Ferhat and said that the New Left will fill the political vacuum in the country with progressive and modern policies.

In his speech, Ferhat said, "The farmers of the region, who organised a big demonstration last Saturday in my homeland Rhodope, flocked to the streets of Komotini with their tractors. I am in favour of them in their just cause and I consider it a debt to convey their demands to you."

Ferhat argued that the new Common Agricultural Policy was signed by the relevant minister almost without being read and said, "The hikes and price increases negatively affect production. The issue of diesel support, which is the right of farmers, has not been finalised. Land integrations (anadasmos) in the region are also extremely inadequate. As a result of the wrong choices of the government and this PDP, which the authorised minister signed without reading it, my compatriot has been forced to meet his basic needs from his own pocket. Our farmers are the hardest-working community compared to the European average, but they do not get their just dues."

Özgür Ferhat emphasised that the government did not take any measures and did not take the necessary steps after the fire disaster in the region in the summer.

"WHEN IT COMES TO OUR MINORITY, THE NEW DEMOCRACY PARTY TURNS ITS BACK ON OUR PEOPLE"
In his speech, Mr. Ferhat also raised the minority problems. Stating that the government has not fulfilled any of its obligations towards the minority, Ferhat said, "Your political statements about the minority before the elections are all deception and you have committed a crime of democracy in the toxic environment you have created and you have damaged the image of our region, which is a multicultural value, throughout the country. You ignored the real problems of the people in the region and disregarded the problems of our labourers, farmers and people. You violated democracy and the rule of law and were busy listening to politicians, military commanders and journalists.

As New Left, we will continue to struggle for the coming together of intellectuals, democracy watchdogs and progressive forces. A better future is blossoming for our country and our minority."
