OPEKA: Platform for family allowance in mountainous and disadvantaged areas now open

The support amount is €600 annually, provided that the applicant’s annual family income does not exceed €3,000, or €300 annually if the annual family income ranges between €3,000 and €4,700.

The platform is accessible through the OPEKA website, and beneficiaries can complete their applications online using their personal TAXIS codes. The platform will remain open for applications until October 30, 2025.

Citizens whose 2024 application was rejected must submit a new application for 2025 in order to be re-evaluated.

Automatic checks and data cross-verifications will follow, and at the end of the process, applicants will receive the relevant notification via email or SMS.

Beneficiaries may also turn to their local Citizen Service Centers (KEP), where accredited staff can handle the entire application process on their behalf, up to final submission and response.

Citizens whose 2024 application was approved will be invited (through automated email and SMS notifications), within the above period, either by logging into the platform or via KEP, to update their pending 2025 application with the additional required information for automated cross-checks, and then save it so that the necessary checks can be carried out.

After the electronic verification of data by the Independent Authority for Public Revenue (AADE), applicants may be asked, if necessary, to provide additional information.

In all cases, the application must be finally submitted in order to be considered valid for the year 2025.
