"No shift education this year, building problem still exists": Board of Councillors

The message issued by the Board of the Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School on the occasion of the new academic year is as follows
HAPPY 2023-2024 ACADEMIC YEAR
Dear students, valuable parents, esteemed teachers and administrators, we wish you a happy 2023-2024 academic year.
As Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School family, we will welcome the new academic year on Monday 11 September with our 600 students in our historical building which was used as a tobacco warehouse for many years.
As the Board of Councillors, we have made preparations for the new academic year by eliminating some deficiencies and making other necessary arrangements in our school during the summer. We would like to state that we continue to work meticulously for the necessary needs and arrangements.
This year, due to the situations arising from the decrease in the number of students in our school, all our students will come to our school as morning students as a result of the decrease in the number of our branches. In other words, there will be no shift education in our school this year, all our students are morning students. Our school administration has already informed you about this good news by e-mail.
Our students should come to school on Monday morning 11.09.2023 at 08.15 at the latest. Books will be delivered to our students on the first day of school. Check-out time will be at 11.00 on the first day. We would like to inform you.
In this regard, an information letter was sent by e-mail from the school administration.
Finally, as the Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School Council, we would like to state that we will continue to protect our only Minority Secondary School and High School in Xanthi despite all kinds of difficulties and problems in our school building. On this occasion, we would like to address once again with all our sincerity to all authorised units. Find a solution to the building problem of Xanthi Minority Secondary and High School as soon as possible. The school building is no longer able to cope with this burden. The Xanthi Minority Secondary School and High School family deserves a new school.
