Newly elected members of the Municipality of Komotini swear in
The Municipality of Komotini organised the swearing-in ceremony on Sunday 17 December 2023 at 12.00 pm in the old REX Cinema Hall.
The ceremony was attended by municipal council members elected from the ruling and opposition lists, muhtars elected to local councils, many guests and citizens.
The swearing-in ceremony started with a religious service led by Metropolitan Pandeleimon of Maronia and Komotini. Afterwards, Pandeleimon made a short speech to the participants and wished success to the mayor, council members and muhtars who will serve in the new term.
In the continuation of the programme, Yannis Garanis, who was re-elected as Mayor of Komotini, read the oath of office and all the elected officials took the oath.
Mayor Garanis addressed the participants of the ceremony and explained the wishes and demands of the people and what they want to do as a government for the new 5-year term. He thanked all the voters of the municipality and the participants of the ceremony for their trust in him and his team.
