Minister of National Defence Nikos Dendias made the announcement during the final phase of the “TAMS Tactical UAV–Counter-UAV” and “Aisios Oionos 2025” military exercises held in Dedeağaç.

Recalling that the Greek Armed Forces can now produce their own UAVs and drones at the 306th Telecommunications Base Factory in Acharnes, Dendias stated that this capability will be expanded to other regions. He highlighted that mobile production units allow troops to manufacture drones in the field and update software instantly, emphasizing: “A few years ago, no one would have believed this was possible.”

Dendias confirmed that the 316th Regional Workshop in İskeçe will now be equipped with drone production infrastructure. The new facility is expected to hold strategic importance for the operational planning of the Higher Military Command in Thrace.

The Ministry noted that this development will strengthen Greece’s domestic defence industry capacity and enhance operational flexibility across the region.
