Leading religious figures of the Turkish Muslim minority in Western Thrace paid a formal visit to Türkiye’s Ambassador to Greece, highlighting ongoing diplomatic and community ties.

Mustafa Trampa, who also serves as head of the Western Thrace Turkish Minority Advisory Board, and İbrahim Şerif visited Çağatay Erciyes at the Turkish Embassy in Athens on Monday, March 30.

The meeting, described as a courtesy visit, underscored the relationship between Türkiye’s diplomatic mission and religious leadership within the Western Thrace Turkish community.

Following the visit, Mufti Mustafa Trampa shared a statement on social media, expressing appreciation for the ambassador’s hospitality.

“Today, we paid a courtesy visit to our motherland Türkiye’s Ambassador to Athens, Mr. Çağatay Erciyes. We thank the esteemed ambassador for his kind attention and hospitality,” Trampa said.

While no further details of the discussions were disclosed, such visits are seen as part of ongoing engagement between Turkish officials and representatives of the minority community in Greece.
